About us
Zachor Foundation for Social Remembrance is a non-governmental educational organisation. While students in primary and secondary schools are learning about the past, our aim is to help them become more sensitive and open to accepting each other through our pedagogical approach, educational activities, teaching materials and publications.
Our teaching methodology emphasises the pedagogical importance of the personal perspective. Our online and digital learning materials focus on developing a range of competences, critical thinking as well as social and emotional learning. In addition to history classes, our educational programmes can be integrated into a wide range of subjects.
We aim to help develop and enhance 21st century competences through digital learning materials, school activities and professional development for teachers, all based on personal life stories.
We find it important that teachers, students and the wider public approach the social events of the past and the consequences of exclusion, racism, anti-Semitism and bias with empathy, and act as compassionate and responsible citizens in their choices and in their daily lives.
